After a rather trying weekend visiting Chicago it was nice to wake up in my own bed on Sunday...Father's Day. I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I was excited to find out that Mary and Elsie bought me a Nintendo Wii as my Father's Day present. This is something I had been thinking about buying for a while, but wasn't necessarily a necessity. That being said we are the last family unit on Mary's side of the family to own a Wii. Neither of us are die hard video game players so the Wii probably fits us better than Xbox or Playstation. We enjoy games for fun and the exercise activity involved with the Wii. I have heard the negativity about the graphics for the Wii as compared to the other video game consoles, but I would rather not geek out about this aspect.
Later in the day, I did some research at Amazon we went to the store and we bought a couple of games; The Price Is Right & MLB 2K9. I knew I wanted a baseball game to play and we both thought that the game show title would be fun. In the future we will likely add some other accessories to the mix. Mary's mom has the Wii Fit which we have both liked to play and one of Mary's co-workers has the Wii Active and we have heard good things. In the past, we have also played Guitar Hero and Rock Band at Mary's sister's and with friends. We both like the game so I did some research and we have decided to buy The Beatles: Rock Band game that comes out 09/09/09. This should be fun!!
